DUARTE, Cassima. Case study of an adult’s subjective experiences about her skin non-acceptance: from the rogerian clinic with online monitoring. IGT rede []. 2023, 20, 39, pp.174-194. 20--2025. ISSN 1807-2526. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15149836.
This case study aimed to study the subjective experiences of a 48-year-old woman about her skin non-acceptance, from free reports that comprised the period of online psychotherapeutic care from 02/16/20 to 01/31/2021. For the analysis and understanding of the content obtained in the sessions, the theoretical recommendations of the Person-Centered Approach - PCA were used, outlining only the main complaint, namely the lesion on the client’s neck. The results showed that the process of illness in this person’s skin was the precursor of experiential shortening, bringing particularized pain and existential laxity in a broad sense, and that as a result of the client’s actualizing agents coupled with psychotherapy, the client was able to describe her experiences of dissatisfaction with her reality and, consequently, to advance towards recognizing, understanding, and genuinely welcoming her pain.
