This research, resulting from a postgraduate conclusion monograph on autism spectrum disorder, aims to discuss Autism Spectrum Disorder analyzed in light of the theory of self, the theoretical basis that underlies Gestalt therapy. The aim is to promote reflections that broaden the view on the clinical management of gestalt therapy in relation to the isolation adjustments that are configured in the autistic experience, beyond the propagated exclusivity of behavioral techniques as the only possible line of care. The article is of a bibliographical exploratory nature and focuses on some periodicals and books that cover the topic. It was concluded that it is important to encourage more research in order to expand the universe of knowledge about the object of this study.
