Psychological evaluation is an important professional activity for psychologists. Due to changes in legislation, the need for discussion about psychiatric classification became evident. Classifications such as CID-10 and DSM-IV, used for psychological diagnosis can be considered scientifically based and make the discussion between professionals from different fields easier. The process of cognitive-behavioral evaluation is the gate to psychotherapeutic treatment development. Cognitive-behavioral therapists develop therapy sessions by using a set of techniques with the objective to influence thoughts, behaviors and mood. The understanding of facts related to psychological disturbances allow the planning of effective and individualized clinical interventions. So, for professionals of different approaches who make use of psychological diagnosis, the tools such as psychiatric classifications are the main instrument to increase accurate diagnosis, to improve clinical communication with other professionals and to increase generality and comparability of diagnostic conclusions
