Abstract

Objective:
This study aimed to present the construction process and the evidence of content validity of CAMALEO TOC, a manual of group cognitive-behavioral therapy (GCBT) for Brazilian adolescents with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).
Methods:
This study was structured in the following stages: 1) systematic review in search of manuals with scientific evidence; 2) appreciation of existing manuals; 3) preparation of the new manual; 4) expert assessment; 5) assessment of the manual by adolescents; 6) appreciation of the assessments; 7) adjustments according to expert and adolescent assessments. The CAMALEO TOC content was evaluated by a psychiatrist, four psychologists experts in adolescents with OCD, and seven adolescents.
Results:
The manual showed excellent applicability and evidence of content validity, both in adequacy (Finn = 0.98 mean score = 4.0) and relevance (Finn = 0.99 mean score = 4.0; on a rating scale of 0 to 4).
Conclusion:
Further studies with this population need to be conducted for the definitive validation of the CAMALEO TOC.
