Introduction:
A collaborative case conceptualization assessment scale consists of a recently developed questionnaire in the English language by Padesky et al. with the aim of evaluating whether the cognitive behavioral therapist is completing and using the conceptualization tool at all levels.
Objectives:
To present the cross-cultural adaptation process of the Collaborative Case Conceptualization Rating Scale for the Brazilian context.
Methods:
The cross-cultural adaptation involved several steps: independent translation of the instrument by experts in the field of cognitive behavioral therapy, preparation of a synthesis version of the scale, back-translation process into the original language of the scale and finally the elaboration of the final version of the scale. The content validity analysis was carried out by a committee of experts with an emphasis on cognitive-behavioral therapy and was composed of both a qualitative and quantitative assessment through the calculation of the content validation coefficient.
Results:
All steps for the cross-cultural adaptation of the scale were carried out, we obtained the dominant CVC coefficient values (≥ 0.75) and all adjustments suggested by the experts who participated in the previous steps were made.
Discussion:
The Brazilian version of the CCC-RS proved to be suitable for application in the Brazilian context.
