GARBARINO, Mariana Inés; SOUZA, Maria Thereza Costa Coelho de  e  CAETANO, Luciana Maria. Piaget and psychoanalysis: a dialogue on the reverse of childhood pathologization. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2021, vol.73, n.3, pp.80-96. ISSN 1809-5267.  https://doi.org/10.36482/1809-5267.arbp2021v73i3p.80-96.

Childhood pathologization is a phenomenon that, although contradicting the bases of genetic epistemology, has been little addressed in contemporary Piagetian works when compared with psychoanalysis. Piaget maintained a dialogue with Freudian psychoanalysis since the beginning of his work, an attempt at articulating that remained active in authors from the field of psychology and education. This article revisits this dialogue in a new light: the problematization of the individualizing logic of school failure and pathologization. For this, it proposes three axes of theoretical confluence that involve clinical and ethical resonances. It concludes that the articulation between both theories not only maintains its validity, but also proves fruitful to discuss the current reductionisms of child development.
