Abstract

This theoretical essay aims to bring a review about some advances that the topic of aging has brought for the psychology from de half of last century, mainly regarding the consolidation of the theoretical field of the Psychology of Aging. The article describes the implications of such developments have for assistance in Psychology and Gerontology. The text also aims to highlight the considerations made by the literature in the field of applied psychology on the importance of interventions with older and the variables to be taken into account in developing more effective practice with this population
