The present research aims to identify if the disciplinary practices and parents’ knowledge about social media can be factors that influence the involvement and victimization with this type of violence. The study was carried out with 11 students aged 10 to 17 years (M = 13.32, SD = 2.04) and one of their respective parents. The Discipline Dimensions Inventory (parents’ and children’s version) was applied, a questionnaire on knowledge about social media for parents /caregivers and the Cyberaggression scale and the Scale of victimization by mobile devices and internet on students. The results indicated a significantly positive correlation between punitive practices (psychological aggression and corporal punishment) with aggression and victimization of cyberbullying and a significant and negative correlation between open talk about the use of the internet by parents and the discomfort of children after using it.
