ROSA, Marcela Pereira. Brazilian social formation and the consciousness forms: notes from a psychological approach. Gerais, Rev. Interinst. Psicol. [online]. 2023, vol.16, n.2, e19753. Epub 12-Maio-2025. ISSN 1983-8220. https://doi.org/10.36298/gerais202316e19753.
This paper focuses on the historical particularity of the constitution of consciousness forms in Brazil from the theoretical foundations of Historical-Cultural Psychology. Starting from the comprehension of the historical character of the psychic phenomena and having as presupposition the dialectical relationship between subjectivity and objectivity, we seek to bring some initial reflections on the historical roots of the consciousness forms, locating them in their relationship with the processes of Brazilian economic and social formation. For the purposes of the proposed discussion, we employ the concept of consciousness based on the Vygotskian senses of the psychological system and process of becoming aware. We point out that the structural conditions of a Brazilian reality founded on dependence, subordination, mass alienation, and the deepest traits of slavery and patriarchalism, consolidate the objective and subjective bases upon which our forms of consciousness are constituted.
