In the clinical internship, Psychology students learn intervention and evaluation techniques and expand their knowledge of psychological phenomena. Therefore, supervision is a decisive factor in the trainee’s theoretical and practical development. This article aimed to learn about aspects related to the characteristics of the attendance, training, and supervision of trainees during their clinical internship. A total of 14 psychology students from two Higher Education Institutions (HEI), one public and one private, in southern Brazil took part in the investigation. A questionnaire was used, and descriptive measures, such as frequency, percentage, and means were employed in the analysis. The results showed differences and similarities between the internships experienced by public and private HEI students. Students positively evaluated the relationship with supervision and stated that the clinical internship process at the university services as extremely important in the learning of skills that will shape them as Psychology professionals. In conclusion, there is a need to promote the listening and embracing of students during the supervision process.
