This research aimed to analyze the relationship between emotional regulation, anxiety and/or depression symptoms and migraine complaints. The sample was composed of 259 adults of both sexes, aged from 18 to 65 years. The ID-Migraine™ questionnaire, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire and a sociodemographic questionnaire were used. Logistic regression was carried out with migraine complaints as dependent variables, and the explanatory variables were those that showed bivariate statistical significance in relation to the diagnosis of migraine complaints in ID-Migraine™, namely gender and significant anxiety symptoms. The results showed that most participants obtained a positive result for migraine on the ID-Migraine™. Women were about twice as likely to complain about migraines, and those with anxiety symptoms were almost four times more likely to complain about these headaches. In sum, emotional regulation and depression did not show statistically significant associations with migraine, despite evidence from the literature, but gender and anxiety did, which reiterated relationships already mentioned in other studies.
