Abstract

THEOTONIO, Maria; NORONHA, Ana Paula Porto  and  AZZI, Roberta Gurgel. Translation, Adaptation and Psychometric Studies of the Leadership Self-Efficacy Scale. Rev. Psicol., Organ. Trab. [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.3, pp.2094-2100.  Epub Nov 29, 2024. ISSN 1984-6657.  https://doi.org/10.5935/rpot/2022.3.22342.

Self-efficacy for leadership refers to the individual’s belief in their capability to successfully play the role of leader. This work was organized into two studies. In the first, the translation, retrotranslation and verification of the semantic analysis of the Multidimensional Leadership Self-Efficacy Scale (LSE) 4.0 version into Brazilian Portuguese was carried out. Four bilingual independent translators participated; five judges, expert doctors of psychological evaluation, and five leaders. In the second study, validity evidence was pursued, based on the analysis of the internal structure and reliability scale. The 156 Brazilian leaders, company workers, answered the (LSE) version 4.0 Br and a sociodemographic questionnaire. A good accuracy rate was verified through the Cronbach’s alpha of 0.91 and the McDonald’s omega of 0.91. The LSE version version 4.0 Br resulted in 20 items in unidimensional structure, with explained variance of 0.385. Demographic data were analyzed to identify possible differences. This study can contribute to new research in psychology
