Abstract

GEMMA, Sandra Francisca Bezerra et al. Technological Artifacts and the Work of Live Line Electricians. Rev. Psicol., Organ. Trab. [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.3, pp.2163-2170.  Epub Nov 29, 2024. ISSN 1984-6657.  https://doi.org/10.5935/rpot/2022.3.22960.

This article comes from a research and development project about the work of live line electricians (ELVs) conducted at a power company in the interior of São Paulo. The objective was focused on analyzing the work of ELVs and the use of technological artifacts from concepts of ergonomics of design and anthropotechnology. In order to understand the work, the ergonomic analysis of work (AET) methodology was used as well as semi-structured interviews with 10 ELVs about the work and challenges arising from the new technologies in use in the sector. The existing relationship between workers, their artifacts and work itself was identified, presented through the introduction of work management technologies, individual protection technologies and task execution/maintenance technologies. The technological insertion implies changes in the very nature of the activity, which is relevant because it is a highly dangerous environment.

Keywords : ergonomics; technology; electricians.
