SILVA, Narbal et al. Happiness at Work Inventory: Evidence of Preliminar Validity in Brazilian Adults. Rev. Psicol., Organ. Trab. [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.4, pp.2244-2252. Epub 02-Dez-2024. ISSN 1984-6657. https://doi.org/10.5935/rpot/2022.4.24191.
This article presents studies for the construction of an instrument to assess the construct of happiness at work, known as the Happiness at Work Inventory (IFT), and highlights validity evidence based on its internal structure. Happiness at work was defined as a state composed of predominantly positive thoughts, feelings, and emotions, coated with positive meanings and purposes, operationalized in four components: 1) Transcendental, 2) Relational, 3) Material of existence, and 4) Personal. A total of 814 adults, aged 18 to 65, 562 of whom were women, participated in the study. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis (AFC) was performed on the IFT. The internal structure composed of the first three factors proved to be the most adequate for the instrument, given the variance of the fourth factor and the fit indices in the AFC. The IFT presents preliminary evidence of validity based on its internal structure. However, further studies should be conducted to corroborate its validity.
