VIANNA, Lilia Moreira; AMORIM-RIBEIRO, Elisa Maria Barbosa de; MOURAO, Luciana  e  SANDALL, Hugo. Telework in Times of Crisis: Redesign as Imperative for Performance and Wellbeing at Work. Rev. Psicol., Organ. Trab. [online]. 2023, vol.23, n.1, pp.2338-2347.  Epub 02-Dez-2024. ISSN 1984-6657.  https://doi.org/10.5935/rpot/2023.1.23706.

The present study aimed to characterize the impact of compulsory telework on the performance and wellbeing of teleworkers regarding psychological needs and work redesign. Thirty-three civil servants — students of the telework management course — participated. The corpus gathered 4,261 words analyzed with Iramuteq support. “Telework” and “Work-Task” were the main communities in the co-occurrence tree. Five classes emerged: Work-Family Reconciliation, Virtual Communication, Communication Tools, Relationship, and Work Redesign. The basic psychological need for relationship and the communication performance dimension were the most affected, making relationship and task redesign the main targets of redesign actions. In summary, telecommuting in the context of the crisis has positioned redesign as a collective process that must combine efforts by organizations and workers in order to guarantee both work performance and the wellbeing of teleworkers.

Palavras-chave : telework; work redesign; pandemic.
