AMORIM, Silvia Miranda; CAMPOS, Caroline de Oliveira; DOLABELLA, Clara Vidigal  and  OLIVEIRA, Karina da Silva. Self Perception of Skills in Organizational Psychology: The Construction of a Psychometric Instrument. Rev. Psicol., Organ. Trab. [online]. 2024, vol.24, e24840.  Epub Apr 10, 2026. Work and organizational psychology (WOP) is one of the main areas of activity of psychologists in Brazil, and it is necessary to discuss the skills required for this practice. The objective of this study was to report the construction, and verify the initial quality of an instrument for self-perception of interns' competencies for working in WOP. Two studies were carried out, the first on the construction of the instrument and analysis by the judges, and the second on a pilot study with 41 WOP interns. The results pointed to a scale with 41 items and two dimensions (professional skills and social skills), with reasonable indicators of validity and reliability, without identifying gender and age differences. The theoretical proposal of the first study was partially confirmed in the pilot study. At the end, the theoretical adequacy of the dimensions, the need for further validation of the instrument, and progress in understanding the reality of interns are discussed.
