Resumen

SOLOVIEVA, Yulia; ROJAS, Luis Quintanar  y  MORAIS, Caio Pereira Gottschalk. Reflections on the possibilities of an online child neuropsychology practice. Neuropsicologia Latinoamericana [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.2, pp.42-48.  Epub 28-Nov-2025. ISSN 2075-9479.  https://doi.org/10.5579/rnl.2021.0645.

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic surprised everyone by forcing countries into social isolation. This fact caused a great increase in the use of the internet for recreation, socialization and work. Professionals from the most different areas had to adapt to online work. With neuropsychologists it was no different and these professionals, probably for the first time, needed to ask themselves: Is online neuropsychological evaluation possible? Is online neuropsychological intervention possible? Are there advantages and/or disadvantages in a possible work in neuropsychology online? In this context, this article aims to reflect on the possibilities, characteristics, challenges and demands of a possible online neuropsychological practice. It is not desired to suggest the substitution of face-to-face work for online work, but to face the possibility that the need for the latter one will increase in the future post-pandemic, since many predict that the current event may bring a “new normal” which we will all have to adapt to.

Palabras llave : childhood neuropsychology; practice neuropsychological online; historical-cultural neuropsychology; COVID-19 pandemic; neuropsychology and the new normal.
