SANTOS, Gustavo Alvarenga Oliveira; CASARINI, Karin Aparecida y DIAS, Fabiana Carolina de Souza Carvalho. Reception Duty: a device for welcoming the Other. Rev. NUFEN [online]. 2024, vol.16, e254131. Epub 22-Nov-2024. ISSN 2175-2591. https://doi.org/10.26823/rnufen.v16i01.25413.
This is a report of professional experience arising from the implementation of the Psychological Duty at the Center for Studies and Research in Applied Psychology, a teaching service at the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro. The implementation of this service begins as an extension project, an improvement course until it becomes a perennial modality linked to the curricular internships of the Psychology degree. The poles are demonstrated: something to listen to and something to do such as guidance to interns for carrying out their shift. Subsequently, the way in which this device was established in the service, articulating this mode with the ethics of liberation established by Enrique Dussel, inspired by Levinas’s Philosophy, is called Welcoming Duty. This proposal places theories and methods arising from the epistemological proposals of Psychology in the background and the Other, their needs and peculiarities, in the foreground, which suggests a multidisciplinarity and a more attentive understanding of the needs of the users who seek us.
