BAYAO, Bianca and DAMOUS, Issa. Slow food and the current eating practices concerns. Trivium [online]. 2018, vol.10, n.2, pp.155-166. ISSN 2176-4891. https://doi.org/10.18379/2176-4891.2018v2p.155.
The present article explores the imperatives of healthy living and its effects on eating practices, including its relation to the current subjective and political contexts. Therefore, it discusses the modern regulatory practices and social norms that govern eating habits. Furthermore, this study sustains the idea that eating practices are a part of the political and historical aspects of the individual life, experienced in their private and collective existence, either in a submissive or critical way. It also analyses the Slow Food movement as an attempt to escape from some of the regulations imposed on eating practices, which suggests an alternative path to a more empowered way of living.
