Introduction:
The study sought to track the presence of symptoms of anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress, in addition to describing the main behavioral changes presented by residents of Juiz de Fora, MG, before covid-19. Data collection was online and the “snowball” technique was used for recruitment.
Method:
897 subjects participated who answered a sociodemographic and behavioral questionnaire; Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale; and Screening Instrument for Post-Traumatic Stress Symptoms (SPTSS).
Results:
indicated expressive behavioral and mood changes, such as: perception of being infected, despite being healthy, more alcohol use than usual, fear, irritability, anxiety, and sadness. The tracking instruments also showed the presence of symptoms of anxiety (53.4%), depression (93.4%), and post-traumatic stress (43.1%).
Discussion/Conclusion:
A local cut is presented; however, the data are in line with the scientific community regarding the psychic suffering in the covid-19 pandemic.
