This paper seeks to reflect on the possibilities of offering mental health care to children and their families in services that work from the perspective of psychosocial care, using resources of remote contact in times of pandemic, caused by COVID-19. The work was developed in the mental health project “Brincando em Familia”, a permanent space for teaching, research and extension at Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) in Salvador, which works integrating psychoanalytic contributions with the psychosocial care mode. The method involved the construction of a clinical case of a 9-year-old child and his mother, followed up over 7 months through a messaging application. The results show that care, which integrates contributions from the clinic of continence and the psychoanalysis of social bonds, provides the expansion of family possibilities to deal psychically with emotional experiences and contributes to the strengthening of family and community bonds, which goes to meet of the proposals of the psychosocial care mode. These are experiences that expand the possibilities of care beyond the pandemic context in which they were initiated.
