Introduction: This research aims to understand the perception of alcohol and drug addicts about the therapeutic approach of two devices of specialized psychosocial care. Method: This is a descriptive with a qualitative approach. The study included 15 people, functionally independent, assisted by Caps AD and in a therapeutic community. Data on perception were obtained from conducting a semi-structured interview with dependents who experienced treatment in psychosocial care. For data verification, the Content Analysis technique was used. Results: showed that service users have positive and negative perceptions about the Psychosocial Care Network treatment models. However, the feeling of regret in relation to the period of isolation and territorial detachment present in the speeches referring to the Therapeutic Community (TC), attest to the greater importance attributed by those assisted to one of the models employed. Conclusion: The reports point to a vision of the Caps AD treatment model as the personification of knowledge and practices of "cure" or reduction of harms for chemical dependents.

Keywords : Therapeutic community; Substance-related disorders; Social isolation; Healthcare models.
