Abstract

BARBI, Karina Borgonovi Silva et al. work in its Different Meanings: a Scope Review of Qualitative Studies. Rev. Psicol. Saúde [online]. 2025, vol.17, e17282148.  Epub Dec 19, 2025. ISSN 2177-093X.  https://doi.org/10.20435/pssa.v1i1.2148.

The meaning of work in human life has been the focus of studies for several decades, and its relevance is present especially today, given so many changes in work models. Deepening the understanding of the constituent aspects through individual perceptions is an important part of understanding this concept and the component factors of the relationship between man and his work. For this reason, the objective of this work was to evaluate the evidence on the meaning of work produced by empirical studies of qualitative methodology. It was observed that the evidence obtained on the meaning of work was similar in similar contexts of analysis, demonstrating the existing variability according to the associated personal, work and sociocultural aspects. Through qualitative research, it is possible to provide a deeper understanding of the relationships between the existing characteristics and their influence on the reality experienced between the individual and his work.
