SAVEIA, João Manuel; PEIXOTO, Adriano de Lemos Alves  e  BENTIVI, Daiane Rose Cunha. Psychological Assessment as a Diagnostic Tool in Organizations: Mental Health Screening in a Telecommunications Company in Angola. Rev. Psicol. Introduction: Psychological assessment plays a significant role in organizational and work psychology. This study aimed to present the results of an assessment process developed to diagnose mental health conditions in a telecommunications company in Angola. Methods: This is a descriptive and analytical study. Various data collection techniques were used. The primary survey was based on an online questionnaire that included sociodemographic questions, the DASS-21 scale to screen for symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress, the Job Design Questionnaire, and the Reduced Perceived Organizational Support Scale (EPSO-R). A total of 1,503 responses were obtained. Results: The results indicated a prevalence of moderate to severe symptoms of depression (14.25%), anxiety (15.3%), and stress (8.32%). Women exhibited higher prevalence rates for symptoms of all three conditions compared to men. The analysis showed that work characteristics such as autonomy and social support are negatively associated with mental health symptoms. Discussion: The results suggest the need for organizational interventions focused on promoting psychological well-being. The importance of adapting instruments to cultural and contextual specificities is highlighted. Conclusion: The assessment proved to be a useful tool for identifying psychosocial risks and proposing targeted interventions, contributing to the improvement of the work environment and employee well-being.
