Abstract

TODOROV, João Claudio. Animals, sometimes irrational, but predictable. Perspectivas [online]. 2010, vol.1, n.1, pp.1-4. ISSN 2177-3548.

The world economic crisis of 2008 still generates articles in the general press based on the assumption that man is a rational decider in economic questions, an assumption based on traditional economic theories. Personal mistakes in choosing would be random and unimportant for economic predictions, based on means of large groups. The present work comments on advances of behavioral economics that make the "anomalies" of traditional economy predictable and controllable.

Keywords : behavior analysis; behavioral economics; economic choices; predictability.
