The article reflects on the support of social networks accessed by mothers in severe psychological distress, in particular the more important to support the mother's place. The main objective was to investigate how these networks are structured, are triggered and how to articulate. The research adopted as a theoretical and methodological framework the History of Life. Participants were six women, through semi-structured individual interviews. A speech analysis of the narratives produced and, therefore, they were organized from the following categories was performed: The helplessness in maternity; health facilities, social welfare and justice accessed by women; Support networks family; Networks associated with religião; Stigmatization; Development and exceeding demands and impasses arising motherhood. It was observed that these networks serve as fundamental mechanisms so that women can, regardless of their history marked by psychological distress, maintain the link with their children; that such networks are usually woven by their mothers and that from the point of view of equipment belonging to various government sectors, there is a big gap in the provision of an articulated care.
