Abstract

MALISKA, Juliana Kuster de Lima; MARINHO, Juliana da Rosa  and  ZAPPE, Jana Gonçalves. Paths of Care in Children's Mental Health Care. Rev. Polis Psique [online]. 2022, vol.12, n.2, pp.51-70.  Epub Oct 07, 2024. ISSN 2238-152X.

Psychosocial Care Centers for Children and Adolescents offer services in secondary health care, under the perspective of psychiatric reform and by following Brazil’s Unified Health System guidelines. This paper presents the results of a qualitative research that was developed through a multiple case study, in order to understand how the path is established in the context of secondary health care for children. Data were collected through documental analysis and semi-structured interview, then the information were processed by content analysis. There were identified difficulties in communication, in the process of sharing cases between different levels of health care as well as in the development of Singular Therapeutic Project. Regarding the disengagement of children from the service, there were more referrals and wavers than discharge processes, which needs to be problematized given the risk of chronification of the cases.
