The article addresses the results of the first stage of the research “Children and digital screens in the context of isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic: Performed articulations”. Cartography was used as a method with virtual application of questionnaires and conference. The analysis of the responses of those responsible for children up to 11 years old, that stayed in physical isolation, generated 5 analyzers: The pandemic as an actor that produced a rearrangement in the social fabric and in families; Screens as allies; Screens as a source of concern; Screens and playing; Face-to-face interaction vs. online interaction: classes and video calls. We conclude by reaffirming the power of the articulation concept to reflect about screens, children and the pandemic in its complexity. With the pandemic, there was a disarticulation of the parents’ support network and increased screen time. The screens gained new functions and triggered contradictory perspectives in those responsible for the children.
