This research aimed to identify the understanding and importance given by Primary Health Care professionals to managing the care of users with suicidal behavior, considering the Covid-19 pandemic. This is a qualitative study, carried out with twelve Primary Health Care professionals from a city in the interior of São Paulo, with data collected through a semi-structured script and remote interviews. After Content Analysis, Thematic Modality, three themes emerged, which deal with the importance of recognizing and working with mental disorders and mental health care, especially during the pandemic, which has increased demand in this area. The Family Health Strategy truly inserted in the psychosocial health care network is essential to guarantee comprehensive care for users. However, there is a shortage of resources and professionals need emotional and professional support. Therefore, more training spaces are needed, considering the demands of professionals.
