WERNECK, Marina Bezerra; LUCERO, Ariana e VORCARO, Ângela Maria Resende. Autism and Alienation. Analytica [online]. 2023, vol.12, n.22, pp.1-24. Epub 05-Set-2025. ISSN 2316-5197. https://doi.org/10.69751/arp.v12i22.5179.
This paper aims to clarify the subjective position of autism in relation to alienation. The topological operations of alienation and separation, developed by Jacques Lacan in Seminar 11, are frequently retaken by relevant authors to the field of psychoanalysis in order to think through the differential diagnosis and treatment directions regarding infantile psychopathologies. In this context, a frequent association between the autistic position and the inscription of alienation was found in the bibliography concerning the clinic of autism. Thus, one proposes to review the articulation between alienation and the orders of imaginary, symbolic and real in different moments of Lacan’s work, in which the realm of the subject is conjugated to the dimension of drive by means of otherness. Finally, one will show how alienation to the image, to the signifier and to the hole is essential to each and every subjective constitution.
