This article investigates the constitution of the subject with autism based on the concept of mirror stage, developed and modified by Lacan. The diagnosis of autism has been increasing exponentially since the new DSM-5 classification, from which it started to be considered a spectrum. However, in psychoanalysis, there is a different way of elaborating this diagnosis, which involves a series of clinical observations of how the child relates to their parents or caregivers, to their own body and to words. Considering that the body and words have an intimate relationship in the subjective constitution. The analyst’s work is to build an edge in this body, so that the child can deal and mediate his relationship with the Other.
