The neuro-psychomotor development of children is related to a set of linked changes that involve biological systems in interaction with environmental contexts capable of exerting a significant influence in this process. This study aimed to analyze associations between the factors of the family environment and the neuro-psychomotor development of children of the Units of Early Childhood Education in the city of Belém. A total of 319 children of both sexes, from 36 to 48 months of age were studied. The instruments used were the Childhood Biopsychosocial Characteristics Questionnaire (QCBC) applied to the children responsible and the Denver II Development Screening Test (TTDDII), which evaluated children's neuro-psychomotor development. For the statistical analysis, the chi-square test was used, values considered significant when p <0.05. The results identified significant associations between the suspected delayed neuro-psychomotor development score and three variables: paternal schooling (p <0.001), paternal occupation (p = 0.008), and unplanned pregnancy (p = 0.007). It is concluded that, in general, the results corroborate the literature on this relationship, socioeconomic characteristics, and neuro-psychomotor development. This is the way to think of public policies more sensitive to the demands of the child population, considering the specificities of each region of the country.
