Abstract

CAVALHEIRO, Rafael  and  SILVA, Milena da Rosa. Psychoanalysis and Gender Dissidence: Issues beyond Sexual Difference. Rev. Subj. [online]. 2020, vol.20, n.3, pp.1-13. ISSN 2359-0769.  https://doi.org/10.5020/23590777.rs.v20i3.e9793.

This article seeks to discuss some issues related to the concept of gender and gender dissidence in psychoanalysis, exercising critical and situated thinking and pointing out some propositions based on a review of the most recent bibliography in the scope of psychoanalysis. Initially, there is a presentation of the debate on gender, and a critical discussion follows on the issue of sexual difference. Therefore, the contribution of several psychoanalysts - such as Arán, Pombo, and Porchat - is used, which, although they do not disregard the materiality of the body, problematize the naturalization acquired by this notion in psychoanalysis. Authors such as Judith Butler and Paul Preciado are later rescued, as mentioned above psychoanalysts also address them and use their contributions, which serve as external analyzers to think about psychoanalysis itself. In the last part, there is a discussion about the importance of countertransference analysis and its relationship with the gender discussion.

Keywords : psychoanalysis; genre; gender disagreements; sexual difference.
