Abstract

SILVA, Alberto Warmling Candido da; RAVANELLO, Tiago; COSTA, Márcio Luís  and  LEMKE, Ruben Artur. Lacan's Theory of Desire as a Critique of the Naive Realism of the Self. Rev. Subj. [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.3, e13073.  Epub Nov 22, 2024. ISSN 2359-0769.  https://doi.org/10.5020/23590777.rs.v22i3.e13073.

Starting from the apparent contradiction that appears in the use of the vocabulary of being within a structuralist reading strategy of Freud's work carried out by Lacan, we argue that the ontological vocabulary's uses come from the need to include the subject of speech and the lack within of the structure. Next, we indicate the dimension of ontological criticism of the mirror stage to the political effects generated by the naive realism present in the theoretical figures of the self. Finally, we argue that the psychoanalytic theory of desire is proposed, from an ontological point of view, as a critique of the substantiation of the self in psychoanalysis and as a set of fundamental coordinates for the direction of treatment.

Keywords : theory of desire; an epistemology of psychoanalysis; naive realism; critique of metaphysics.
