SILVEIRA, Viviam da Silva; CAVALCANTE, Lília Iêda Chaves  y  REIS, Daniela Castro dos. Adolescent perpetrators of sexual assault: Perceptions about childhood, adolescence and violence. Rev. Subj. [online]. 2024, vol.24, n.3, e14096.  Epub 09-Mar-2026. ISSN 2359-0769.  https://doi.org/10.5020/23590777.rs.v24i3.e14096.

The phenomenon of sexual violence is historically present in all societies and different cultural contexts. Its manifestation has crucial implications on the life trajectory of children and adolescents, especially when they are subject to these practices. This study, therefore, investigated the perceptions of adolescents who commit sexual aggression against children and adolescents about childhood, adolescence, sexual violence, and violence in the family. It also consists of research with an empirical-descriptive design and a quantitative-qualitative analysis of the data involving adolescents serving socio-educational measures for an infraction analogous to the rape of a vulnerable person in socio-educational care units in the north of the country. The content of four interviews conducted from 2019 onwards was subjected to textual analysis using Descending Hierarchical Classification (CHD) with the support of Iramuteq Software. From the content analyzed, four classes emerged, namely, Perception of Childhood, Perception of Violence in the Family, Perception of Sexual Aggression, andPerception of Adolescence, which indicated the perceptions of adolescents linked to the experiences of their life trajectories, as well as the violent relationships reproduced in the family environment. Thus, these adolescents present a perception of sexual aggression linked to the use of physical force and other forms of violence. It was concluded, then, that adolescent authors tend to perceive violence as a constituent part of their life trajectory. Finally, the scope of investigations that require attention in scientific research on this population is highlighted.
