SILVA, Gisele da Luz Freire  e  MIURA, Paula Orchiucci. Notifications of rights violations from SIPIA in Maceió, Alagoas. Psi Unisc [online]. 2025, vol.9, e18518.  Epub 17-Abr-2026. ISSN 2527-1288.  https://doi.org/10.17058/psiunisc.v9i.18518.

Introduction:

Notification is an instrument that enables the recording and notoriety of epidemiological data about the situation of violence against children and adolescents in Brazilian society.

Objectives:

The objective was to analyze the historical evolution and characteristics of notifications of violated rights of children and adolescents, registered by the Guardianship Councils of Maceió, Alagoas.

Method:

This is a documentary research on the epidemiological profile of violence against children and adolescents in Maceió, Alagoas, based on data available in the Information System for Childhood and Adolescence (SIPIA), from 2011 to 2022.

Results:

576 records were found of rights violations, with numbers of cases reported in the last 3 years. The data shows that children (88.5%) were more victimized than adolescents (11.5%), 58% of the victims were female, 34.4% were mixed race. Physical violence was highlighted in 75.1% of cases; followed by sexual violence (abuse) (14.2%) and psychological violence (4.6%). Fathers (47.8%) stood out as the main perpetrators of violence, followed by mothers (30.4%) and uncles/aunts (21.8%).

Conclusion:

The recent record of notifications in SIPIA and the problem of underreporting of violence in the capital of Alagoas, the perpetuation and naturalization of intra-family physical violence, the invisibility of psychological violence and the absence of socioeconomic data in the SIPIA database were noted, which made it difficult to carry out a detailed analysis of the profile, social class and socioeconomic reality of the children and young people targeted by the violations in Maceió.
