Objectives: To publish original papers in the area of Psychoanalysis, contributing for the good quality of the scientific production and the consolidation of this field in Brazil.

History: The journal first number was published in 1978, and it was published twice a year. From 1990 a 2007 it became annual because of financial problems. Since 2008, it has been one for semester again. Although the periodicity changed for some years, Tempo Psicanalítico has been published uninterruptedly, with a printed number of 500 copies, since its foundation, in 1978. From 2010 on it shall be online on PEPSIC.

Frequency: semiannual

Other information: The journal consists of two different parts: the first one is a thematic section enclosing articles on a previously chosen subject; the second part, called free section, contains papers on any subject related to psychoanalysis, in one of the following categories: research reports, theoretical-clinical studies, reports on professional experience, short communications on research, reports on professional experience, technical notes and book reviews of books published in the last two years, in psychoanalysis or related fields of study. Periodicity – twice a year
