Abstract

The present research aimed to investigate the association between social skills and marital satisfaction. 25 couples (n=50), ages between 23 e 69 years-old were interviewed. The total time of union varied from seven to 40 years. The participants answered Marital Satisfaction Scale and Multidimensional Social Expression Scale - Cognitive part. Inferential analysis do not show correlation between marital satisfaction and social skills, therefore, social skills levels of each partner were correlated as well as their level of marital satisfaction. Also, men seied more satisfied than women with marital relation as long as they have more children.  Data is important and relevant to the comprehension of marital relations as well as to support clinical activity and reflection in cognitive-behavior area
