Abstract
KUPERMANN, Daniel. Trauma, psychic suffering and care in Hospital Psychology. Rev. SBPH [online]. 2016, vol.19, n.1, pp.6-20. ISSN 1516-0858.
This conference is intended to discuss, from a psychoanalytical approach, the means found by subjects in state of illness to deal with their suffering between the time of the game illusion/delusion, the times of trauma and times of care. To this end, the conference begins with an illustration found in the novel The Black Swan, by Thomas Mann, in which the character, when faced with the tragic reality of existence, recognizes and immediately obturates the painful truth, replaying the psychic movement described by Freud in the reel game. In regard to the relations of care proposed by the hospital psychology, the conference shows how the failure to witness the experience of pain sets the traumatic dimension of illness. Accordingly, the times of illness are indicated between the time of the unspoken time, the time of witnessing and time of deauthorizing indifference. With regard to the times of care, the author indicates the times of hospitality, empathy and caregiver health.
