^lpt^aEste trabalho aborda a construção de conceitos sobre os afetos na produção cultural do Brasil ao longo dos séculos XVI e XVII. A experiência emocional é interpretada, nesta perspectiva, com base na psicologia filosófica de inspiração aristotélico-tomista.^len^aThe present study has dealt with the conceptual view of the psychological phenomenon of emotions in the Brazilian literature throughout the 16th and 17th centuries. The experience of emotions is interpreted according to the psychological theory based on the Aristotelic-Thomistic tradition.
