PASSOS, Cleusa Rios P.. Desire and literary work. Ide (São Paulo) [online]. 2007, vol.30, n.45, pp.120-127. ISSN 0101-3106.
This essay is about the mirror-image relations found among the author, the reader and the literary work, considering as their fundamental aspects the instincts (drives) and desire, theories which are discussed by Freud and his followers. In this essay, the established links are based on literary texts and statements made by some authors about what they wrote and read, and among them are: Clarice Lispector, Julio Cortázar, Graciliano Ramos, Roland Barthes and Freud. Their experiences concerning some of their creations were re-examined taking into consideration not only what they say but also what they deny about them once it is in this process that the play with the “unconscious effect” takes place. Some reflections were also made in relation to the necessary identification links found in the first readings, related to any literary work, and to the necessary distance that the subsequent critical readings should keep.
