BOCK, Wolfgang. Walter Benjamin's Berlin before The First World War on the construction of Childhood and Youth. Trivium [online]. 2015, vol.7, n.2, pp.163-187. ISSN 2176-4891.  https://doi.org/10.18379/2176-4891.2015v2p.163.

Walter Benjamin's books Berlin Chronicle and Berlin Childhood are inspired by his readings of Marcel Proust, Henri Bergson and Louis Aragon. Benjamin takes childhood seriously, as a fundamental space of experience. The processes of writing and remembering cannot be separated. The term loss of experience may just mean exactly that - namely to assess what has been lost with childhood. Benjamin tells us about his important years in the school of Gustav Wyneken and during his time of studies in Berlin before the First World War. With these writings, we gain a more accurate insight of the issues and political movements of his time.
