Abstract

In this paper, I intend to portray the "strange meeting" between pictorialist photography and straight photography, based on the artistic evolution of Alfred Stieglitz, one of the fathers of modern photography. Surely, he was not frightened in freely oscilate between fiction and reality, figurativism and abstraction, naturalism and interventionism, materialism and spirituality. An analogy is proposed between a given personality and a new idea.
