Abstract

This article approaches the evolution of the concept of happiness considering the Greek philosophers, psychoanalysis and contemporary philosophy. It questions what would be the obligation to be happy in the present day and the suffering that this order entails to the human being to deal with the sadness and the envy provoked by the exposure of photos, selfies and likes in social media.
