Abstract

CHAUI-BERLINCK, Luciana  and  ANTUNEZ, Andrés Eduardo Aguirre. Around gender issues and changes in the perspective of relations with the body. Ide (São Paulo) [online]. 2020, vol.42, n.69, pp. 133-150. ISSN 0101-3106.

The present article discuss the questionaments that have been brought in up from the psychoanalytic clinic of one of the authors about, what the body is and about gender issues. We start our investigatory path through the work of the philosopher Maurice Merleau-Ponty and his thoughts about the body. Following, we do a brief review upon the work ideas of some important authors in the studies of the gender field, such as Joan Scott and Judith Butler. Also, we can verify how does psychoanalysis inserts itself in gender issues and the relevance of this studies to it. Thus, we conclude that there has been a start of a new era in which people will no longer be shut down in gender categorizations. These open us a door for the challenge, yet to come in our research, of understanding theoretically and out of the binarism keys and the heteronormativity, this singularities.
