From the author’s experience on supervising research projects in psychoanalysis, in the graduation level of psychology, some important issues, that permeate the possibilities of research in psychoanalysis, are discussed. Among them, are the different answers present in the relationship between psychoanalysis and science, and the consequences of these positions, in terms of the adequacy of the use of the psychoanalytic method for research activity.
