Based in the interview with Sonia Curvo de Azambuja at the Public Library "Mario de Andrade" in São Paulo (2010), this paper develops a reflection on the philosophical foundations that support the idea of freedom in the individual / psychoanalyst formation in its relations with culture considering public and private aspects. Sartre, Merleau-Ponty and Espinosa are the philosophers that give support to the reflection.
