Abstract

MILMANIENE, Jose E.. Today's ethics and morals.Translated byClaudia Berliner. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2012, vol.46, n.1, pp. 27-38. ISSN 0486-641X.

The structural defection of the father figure with the consequent degradation of the socio-symbolic law established in the Ten biblical commandments implied a serious loss of ethical references and values. In the face of the collapse of legitimacy, an order is established in which, by the policies of pleasure marked by masochism, there is the preponderance of fetishist-masturbatory sexuality, specular aggressiveness, segregative violence, and the compulsive intake of additive objects. The importance of the analyst's ethical stance is indicated and, to this effect, ideological neutrality and ethical abstinence are distinguished. This article also describes all the dislocations and deception which derive from every policy which claims pleasure beyond the symbolic law. In addition, there is the emphasis of the fact that the attack of the normative socio-symbolic order attempts to substitute the law which establishes differences in the arbitrariness of a system characterized by the elevation of indiscriminate drive pleasures and by the loss of ethical respect of otherness.

Keywords : pleasure; paternal law; sexual difference; drive; ethics; superego; narcissism.
