Abstract

HERRMANN, Fabio. On truth as the tension between invention and discovery (I//T//D). Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2012, vol.46, n.3, pp. 65-77. ISSN 0486-641X.

This is an unpublished paper, a sub-section of Herrmann's written lectures for the course From the Extended Clinic to High Theory: Clinical Meditations. The paper deals with the considerations about the regime of truth that pertains to a science in formation, which is yet to establish the scope of its productions as theories. At its initial stage, this science works closely with its own origin in creation, that is, with the possible forms that are found in order to explore an object which defiantly emerges as an issue or problem. Freud created Psychoanalysis alongside the invention of an interpretive method of human meaning investigation, discovering the psyche. Between the invention of the interpretive method and the discovery of the psyche, founded on the construction of the notion of the unconscious, a space of tension is formed, engaged with the issue of psychic truth - a new field of knowledge, a point of view in which the frontiers of consciousness expand themselves beyond reason.

Keywords : psychoanalysis; psychoanalytic method; field rupture; Multiple Field Theory; Fabio Herrmann.
