BARISON, Osvaldo Luís. Gradiva: Pompeian inspiration for the work of mourning. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2012, vol.46, n.3, pp. 175-187. ISSN 0486-641X.

Through the report of intimate experiences and dreams, the author seeks inspiration in the city of Pompeii, in a novel by W. Jensen, as well as in Freud's ideas, to describe and theorize the processes of mourning in clinical situations. He raises questions regarding the affective relationship that guides the work of the analytic pair, including the use, upon review, of the experiences of the analyst, pointing to the complex situation involving the pair. While reporting the sessions, the author implies the theoretical frameworks that guide the work, without becoming attached to them, discussing a current position in the production of psychoanalytic texts.

Palavras-chave : Gradiva; mourning and elaboration; experience of the analyst; complex situation.
